  • Comments Thread For: Kell Brook Won't Be Ready Until Next Year, Says Hearn

The next defense by IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs) is ruled out until 2016, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.

Brook was set to make the third defense of the year on October 24th, but then suffered a rib injury in training and withdrew from the bout. He was set to face tough Argentinian Diego Chaves.

Im a fan of Brook's but every time he is set to fight someone with a pulse he seems to get injured.

Somehow Hearn will manage to pull out a has been washed up bum from his hat and claim there was no one available for the fight.

I was sure he'd be on the December 12th card.

Maybe the weight issue was true or he is actually injured.

Hate to say it but Brook's momentum is slowly dying. He needs a big fight.

Brook needs to bin Matchroom! The big money fights are in America & he needs to cash in quick. While I'm here, can Boxingscene please scratch the Badlands adverts please?!!!!!!

Kell's had a terrible year. Hopefully they don't scrap the Chaves fight unless he's actually gonna fight a better opponent.

Makes you wonder if this guy ever actually wanted to fight khan on a competitive level, sure he wanted the fight just to cash his own sorry ass out, but khans right, Brook doesn't deserve the fight.

He was injured of course. Enough with the conspiracies.

Bad year for Brook, didn't follow up on 2014 at all.

                Very disappointing.

Injury riddled year that's been a momentum killer.

Still, big fights are there to be made in 2016 so you can only hope for an injury-free run.
