Atlas has ever really developed one good fighter ever. Teddy needed work and sent out feelers everywhere saying he possibly was available under the right situation to train a top fighter ready for a change of trainers. Teddy's job has been reduced to sporadic ESPN PBC fights occasionally. Teddy will probably pick up more fighters but since Moorer who has Teddy trained since Povetkin dropped the ego loving self absorbed in love with himself Atlas?

Which had NOTHING to do with Diaz, and everything to do with Bradley.
You can't otherwise explain his decline and controversials under Diaz, only to end up sparking Brandon Rios, a guy even Manny couldn't hurt.Comment

jOEL dIAZ DEVELOPED bRADLEY quite well. Teddy Atlas never developed any fighter ever but takes a lot of credit. Bradley was made by Diaz. One loss speaks volumes.Comment

Anyway, I don't support a trainer who just threatens his fighter that he'll stop the fight every damn time they're in the corner or complain about their fighter with no real helpful advice. That's demoralizing. That's all Diaz did, that's all Floyd Sr. does, that's all Danny Garcia (the trainer, not the fighter) does, that's all Ruben Guerrero does.
I don't support trainers who just sit back and let their fighter harm themselves in and out of the ring. That's what Robert Garcia does. That's what Brendan Ingle did. That's what Tim Lane did.
I don't support trainers that sit back and do nothing. That's what Roy Jones does. That's what Freddie Roach does. That's what Erik Morales does.
Trainers should inspire and - pardon the pun - stoke the fire under their fighters' ass. That's what Atlas did, that's what Jackson does, that's what Roger Mayweather does, that's what Manny Steward did.
Wins/Losses are about the fighter, not the trainer. Dominance is about the trainer AND the fighter. Bradley hasn't had hardly any dominant wins since Rios.

Teddy Atlas is likely the only reason Michael Moorer beat Holyfield instead of quitting on the stool. Let's be fair here.

This is true for Rios I remember seeing him about 7 weeks before his bradley fight and he looked huge and told em whats up how its going and he gave me a look like "I done fucked up" and I just gave a head nod back.
Rios problem is himself, he still in many ways like a child in the way he handles his responsibilities. He needs someone to babysit him just to keep him in shape and it shouldn't have to be that way. I remember he was blaming TopRank for him not being in shape because they didnt give him a fight in july like they promised so he just stopped working out all together and then Mickey corrected him told him he should just be in shape all year rounds cause its your job and training camp should be to work on the game plan not to lose weight so you can make weight and Rios just shrugged it off nonchalantly.
I have had the pleasure to see Rios train when he is in shape already on weight (talking 5 pounds above 147 weeks before fight time) and Rios is completely different beast but sadly that is not the rios we get 99% of the time, 99% of the time we get the Rios who half ass his work and shows up just 50% of his potential cause he has been dieting and draining himself for weeks already prior to the fight.Comment

Dude got complacent and became a yes man to keep a high paying client happy. Atlas brought Tim back to his roots, something Diaz was too lazy to do.Comment

Diaz sounds like a jealous coach who knew he lost an easy meal ticket. Bradley's first KO win in years, first fight with Atlas and Rios had never been stopped.

Teddy Atlas is a screamer a yeller a maniac in the corner. Teddy has developed no one of note ever. Teddy knows boxing and is a good analyst and fight commentator and probably will help certain fighters to improve but Teddy is not one of the best trainers in boxing as Teddy has no track record of developing anything. Teddy is in love with Himself not in love with boxing. Teddy likes hearing himself talk and wishes more fighters would have signed on with the infatuated with himself Teddy I Love Me Atlas.Comment

Diaz got used to the easy money, got scared that Monica was gaining some control and he started running off at the mouth, essentially cutting the hand that feeds him because of some ego trip and now he is still trying to get Bradley's attention at every turn while claiming that he has moved on.
So obvious he was taking advantage of Bradley and got pissed his [Bradley] wife was there to be the bad guy (girl in this case) to do Bradley's dirty work by phasing him [Diaz] out. It was Bradley's call but Monica's job to execute as a function of her position. Ironic because Diaz hates her for doing her job yet he was let go for neglecting to do his.Comment
