Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Ready For Rigondeaux, 130 Move Looms

WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (5-1, 3KOs) put on a boxing clinic on Saturday night, when he toyed with Romulo Koasicha (25-5) for nine rounds and finished him off in the tenth. The HBO televised co-feature took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Lomachenko's opponent was severely overmatched, but the well has run dry at 126-pounds.

That HBO broadcast was funny last night. Trying to justify Loma's mismatch by blaming Haymon, this writer is trying to do the same thing. He says Haymon doesn't work with Arum but they did Pac/Mayweather and Barthelemy vs Shafikov is coming up. HBO banned Haymon. Stop making excuses for Loma's weak competition. Nobody brings up the fact that RNS & Haymon don't work together when Ward has to choose from a weak list of non-Haymon fighters.

Excellent post. All matches are basically identical to Pacquiao/Mayweather. If Arum and Haymon ever work together on a fight that means they always will.

        weak competition?

He's been a professional for 2 years. I don't care how good of an amateur boxer he was, no other boxer has had his level competition in such a short time as he has.

4/6 opponents are far ahead of what a boxer would normally fight at this point in their career. Especially Gary Russell Jr. who's his best fight and a very good win to have.

Yes, I also would love to see him fight opponents like Rigondeaux or Walters, but I also understand if he wants to take some time to master the professional game.

Can you blame Al Haymon for not wanting to do ANY business with Bob Arum??? Would you do buisness and make $$$ for someone that:

          1. Filed a FRIVOLOUS lawsuit against you that the judge flat-out laughed at and dismissed.
          2. Suing you for a RIDICULES $100,000,000.
          3. Trying to ruin your name and reputation.
          4. Accused you of doing illegal things.
          5. Trying to get you locked-up by asking the justice Dept. to step-in.

I would LOSE all respect for Al Haymon if he did!!! Bob Arum even had MULTIPLE chances to drop this charade and he STILL won't! Bob Arum better remember what snitching did to him last time...

That was also before all the lawsuits threw at Al Haymon. There is ZERO % chance of these two doing business together again anytime soon.

I hope that Rigo/Donaire happens first before the move. Though I am fine with the move since makeable fights aren't just possible.

If he's ready to move to 130, why is he reluctant to fight Walters?

He's not fighting at 130, now that his promotion is realizing that he won't get any fights at 126 he will have to move to 130. Then he will fight your boy Walter and then what will you say?

They said from the get go, we are fighting at 126 and their goal was to clear out 126. Once that is complete. Next division. Then next division.

Barthelemy vs Shafikov is Haymon/Top Rank. Arum's problem is he doesn't like negotiating from the position of weakness when it's one of his best fighters. He kept complaining about Haymon during the May/Pac fight because Haymon was getting the best of him in negotiations, especially the ticket split. Go back and look at the ticket split between Arum & King for the ODLH/Trinidad fight. Arumb fleeced King and zero tickets were released to the public.
