Surprised more trainers don't go the route of rousing speeches.

Really don't believe that technical advice is listened to by any fighter in that environment. A common criticism is fighter X didn't listen to his trainer.

Of course he didn't.

He is in fight or flight mode. I imagine very few fighters have the temperament to take anything on board. Other than an extra surge of adrenalin.

I told my wife Teddy was going to go overboard in the corner when they were walking to the ring. Like Dirk said he's cringey but it's so bad it makes it funny. I swear he lives his life like he's in a movie. Maybe some day it'll make for a great biopic
