Personally, I don't think a trainer does all that much for a fighter in the stage of his career that Timmy is in. To me, Timmy is one of those guys that does everything good, but nothing great. To me, his greatest gift is his versatility. Its also his greatest weakness. Perfect example is how he'll turn in a masterful boxing exhibition against a great fighter like JMM.Then turn around and go to war with a guy like Provodnikok, a guy he could outbox in his sleep. Jf Atlas can bring anything. Maybe he has Bradley's ear enough to make him use his skills more often. We shall see when there's a lil more resistance on the other side of the ring.

Especially not in 1 camp.

Atlas is a legend, but most folks are tripping out here.

Folks have forgotten a whole pile of things.....

1) Bradley has always been an outstanding world-class fighter

2) He is a vet, and has one of the most well-rounded skill-sets in the game

3) A new trainer will not improve a fighter too much by that stage of his career

4) Bradley/Atlas have only had 1 camp together

5) Rios is abso-fkn-lutely made-to-order for Tim, go watch the Abril fight

I'll respect your opinion but Bradley changed a lot of things about his style, a lot of problematic things, and finally showed power for the first time. I am not ready to call that a coincidence.

Commenting as I read this thread..

I like and respect Tim, I just don't appreciate the flip flopping people do on him. He's hot right now, wait til he puts his foot in his mouth again and 90% of these fools will ditch him again. I've said it Bradley is a great fighter but horrible at P.R. but what I dont' get is how beating Rios is worthy of all this adulation.

It's HOW he beat Rios. Despite Rios weight struggles, it is an accomplishment and testament to Bradley's sharpness and underrated power. He's been fine tuning sitting on his punches more since the PAC rematch. It seems Atlas did indeed have a positive effect.

I'm happy for Timmy...seems Altas/Bradley marriage will work, Bradley tends to lose concentration in fight and Teddy's in your face ways wont allow it...now, I can't take much of this fight cause I was expecting Tim to win by a wide UD, but didn't expect Rios to quit...damn, 170 lbs and still quit!!! Let see what the future brings....hope isn't Cotto pr Canelo... they're too big for Timmy!!!

Well him being that big contributed to him quitting, Rios. Someone that has to kill themselves to make weight is A. Going to have stamina issues, and B. Is going to be soft to the body.

Garcia trash talker zombie trainer. Rios, margarita, maidana all have there own heart and courage he teaches zero skills. Fraud trainer overrated drunk ****** punk.

Garcia helped Maidana out pretty well. Taught him to utilize his jab (Maidana has a good jab) to greater effect. If I had to pick just one thing Garcia did for Maidana..that was it.

5 pages in and yet to see anyone admitting their hatred of Atlas is warranted or justified. I've never have been a fan of Joel Diaz, not very good gameplans for Bradley, especially in recent years. Atlas did the job right.

There will be those who say it only happened because Rios was shot. Do you really believe that? Hey, I'm far from a Bradley fan (til tonight), and what I saw, what he did, only a blind person would've missed. But would he beat a Crawford? Tough call, but it would be one he!!uva fight for certain. Lotta skills would be on display in a Bradley/Crawford matchup.

I agree about Diaz. He seemed to just let Bradley use his iron will and determination and considerable skill to win fights. But he wasn't adding much there, I don't think. It's good Bradley has a coach that can bring something new to the table.

Provodnikov has range transition skills and distance skills unlike Rios. Rios has to get in your chest to do damage, Provodnikov is a different beast. A lot of what happened in his fight with Bradley was because of Provodnikov, not just because Timmy didn't fight a smart fight.

This is all hypothetical and there are things each of those boxers has that would give bradley serious problems, out of the three I think Porter is the easier of the fights but Thurman and Brook both could capitalize off Bradley's freezing his head about belt line high. We'll see.

I don't know why a lot of people are taking his words to heart. Rios isn't retiring anytime soon in my opinion. He'll take a break and be right back.

Can't pick a winner in that fight. But it would be a really good matchup right now.

Tim in my eye did outpoint Pacquiao in the first fight. He also caused more damage to Pacquiao than Pacquiao did to him in the rematch. Pacquiao was literally being lifted up off the canvas from every shot Bradley will land on him. Pacquiao ran around until Bradley got tired in that rematch.
