  • Comments Thread For: Timothy Bradley-Brandon Rios: Pre-Fight Report Card

It’s a southern California showdown in Las Vegas and a chance for two men to carve where they are in absence of another.

With the retirement of Floyd Mayweather still a thing (we’ll see how long that lasts), 147 lbs. is looking for a new leader. This clash won’t give it one. What we will get is an assessment of where both might fall in the new pecking order.

Boxing, especially in this division, remains essentially in a state of parallel leagues. The Bradley-Rios winner, as long as they are with Top Rank, isn’t going to be a factor on the PBC side of the equation with the likes of Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, and Shawn Porter. UK-based IBF titlist Kell Brook seems the lone fighter able to play on both sides of the fence. Rios-Brook was already almost made. If Bradley wins, there is the possibility of a third fight with Manny Pacquiao.

I think Rios has a chance to win if Bradley gets caught being in between styles. If the switch from Diaz to Atlas causes him to over think, or to be hesitant, or to become confused when the pressure is on then Brandon might make him pay.

Apart from that Tim should be able to outbox him though. As long as he doesn't get silly and go into brawler mode.

I don't think Rios has much chance early, but if he can keep the intensity up in the second half and Bradley fades there could be a turn around. Bradley takes it but could be another very difficult 12th for him.

        Pre-Fight: Speed – Bradley B+; Rios B =
        Pre-Fight: Power – Bradley B-; Rios B+ =
        Pre-Fight: Defense – Bradley B; Rios B- =
        Pre-Fight: Intangibles – Bradley A; Rios B+
I disagree Rios is far superior to the punching bag bumley.

        facts against their common opponents.

Bradley and Rios both fought Chaves, only one came out looking like a pumpkin.

Bradley and Rios both Fought Pacquaio, Only one came out in a wheel chair.

Compared to Brandon Rios, BUMLEY is a Punching Bag.

          Rios

should be an interesting scrap. If Rios can apply constant pressure and wear him down. He has a chance to win. By KO or D. But Bradley will most likely box And win an UD
