This really sucks for Ali. He last fought in April, wanted a tune-up fight in September and then the title fight in December.

The WBO screwed him over as they took so long trying to figure out how to weasel out of his mandatory so that they could collect on the Bradley/Rios fight.

1000% agreed, the only sanction body i see doing their job this year is the IBF. im surpised more people arent giving them credit. their rankings arent the strongest but they order, strip, and force fights to come to the table.

Exactly. Bradley was supposed to fight Ali now. Per their own rules. Ali refused a step aside check from Bradley and has been stuck in a holding pattern waiting for the WBO to make a decision. He was hoping either he got the fight or they forced Bradley to vacate and he could fight someone else for the belt late this year. But instead of making a decision quickly they just kept stalling and now saying after Rios fight winner has to fight Ali. But months ago the winner of Bradley vs Vargas had the same mandate of having to fight Ali. It's a joke I feel bad for Ali because it makes no sense for him to fight someone else and risk and injury or risking losing when he is "guaranteed" a title shot now. And Arum has no intentions of putting Bradley in the ring with Ali so force him to vacate. He is talking about making Ali vs Vargas next year and talking about the winner of Bradley vs Rios fighting Canelo or Pacquiao no mention of Ali.

Ali is a tougher fight then Rios and it seems like Arum wants to cash Bradley out because he has no chance of beating Canelo or Pacquiao. Bradley should be fighting Ali, Thurman, Khan, Garcia, Porter, Brook ect. Not Canelo (he's too small for him) and not Pacquiao (he already lost twice to him).

Arum and Bradley were prepared to vacate the WBO belt if they couldn't fight Rios, the WBO simply screwed Ali over.

Ali should tell the WBO to F-off and fight for one of the more prestigious belts. He's rated #3 in the IBF and could easily earn a mando spot with Thurman or maybe get into the WBC tournament.

In the meantime he should see if he could sue the WBO for his sanctioning fees and damages suffered from losing out on the December fight.
