  • Comments Thread For: Timothy Bradley Returns With Renewed Motivation

By Thomas Gerbasi - Boxing is often a matter of perspective. Many would say the worst night of Timothy Bradley’s professional career wasn’t when he lost to Manny Pacquiao in their 2014 rematch, fought to a controversial draw with Diego Chaves last December, or nearly got stopped in the closing seconds of his June win over Jessie Vargas.

They would point to his 2013 fight with Ruslan Provodnikov, a decision win that saw him dropped and nearly knocked out en route to victory, and that resulted in a concussion that stuck with him long after the bout.

It’s a valid opinion, but the most important person in this equation, Bradley, would likely disagree. If pressed, he might even call it his greatest night in the ring. It was a night in which an oft-criticized and frankly misunderstood boxer became a hero to everyone who loves the sport.

The previous 29 wins he scored didn’t matter, neither did his controversial nod over Pacquiao or the world title he retained that night. For 36 minutes he was the warrior every fan wants their fighters to be. He rebounded from a horrific first round and got back in the fight, all the while standing and trading with the rock-fisted Russian. And just when he had things in control in the final round, he hit the deck and had to rise and dig deep to make it to the final round. [Click Here To Read More]

They only way he'll be getting knocked out is by the judges if they somehow give Rios a decision victory.

I feel like Bradley could win an easy decision, but he's gonna choose to put on a show, which will give Rios a chance. Gonna be a good one.

A good write-up, obviously Gerbasi is a fan. And I like Bradley, he's not the headbutting bull he used to be.

But I disagree that Bradley is a fighter who needs to "shake things up". Get the W with Rios, get used to Atlas, collect the check, and fry bigger fish later.

Bradley will get into a brawl with Rios, but he's tough enough to withstand the punches, so he might win. Old habits are hard to break. He wants to prove himself to the fans. He'll probably suffer another concussion. Rios has too much heart for his own good and he'll go to war when he doesn't need to.

Tim says wife is manager, what a joke! You don't see wives in NFL or NBA as agents for good reason! Lol, boxing is only sport that requires zero credentials to be a manager. And boxers suffer as a result.

Money is a great motivator for Bradley and Teddy=PAQ

Bradley could get the manny Paq fight with a nice performance against the battered open no defense Rios. Bradley is also a safe fight for manny who wins going away because of better skills speed and movement. Bradley deserves a Paq fight over the de****able Khan and the young Crawford. Teddy can't make bradley any better just smarter.
