Robert Garcia hopes Brandon Rios gets more credit for defeating Timothy Bradley than his fighter received for dominating Mike Alvarado in their rubber match Jan. 24 in Broomfield, Colorado.

Rios’ three-round destruction of Alvarado was met mostly with apathy because Alvarado was ill-prepared for a fight he should’ve postponed after getting arrested three weeks earlier. Alvarado acknowledged in a post-fight interview with HBO’s Jim Lampley that he wasn’t mentally or physically ready to fight, which took away from Rios’ technical knockout victory in their third fight.

Alvarado was arrested on gun charges at 4 in the morning just a week or two before the fight. His face didn't even look right, looked like he had been smoking that good **** and getting drunk instead of training for a fight.

Well if he wants full credit for Brandon for beating Mike Alvarado i'll give it to him. It's not a great accomplishment and doesn't warrant much kudos, but if that's what he wants.

There wasn't any followup stories but he didn't end up in jail or anything, I think that would of been released to the press if it did happen. Probably paid fines and put on parole or something.

**** what can you do when a guy phones in a big fight. Sorta a crime against boxing with how good the first two fights were for that last one to be bs cuz of Alvarado.

It's almost guaranteed he snitched.

He's also a famous guy (in CO anyway). I'd suspect most famous guys with guns aren't gonna get in much trouble with a gun that didn't shoot someone or get shoot, convicted felon or otherwise. Justice system in the US is pretty shaky on punishments if you got enough money or connections.

No prison time for a convicted felon with a gun charge? He also had a warrant for something else. This country may love its guns, but a felon with a gun is a different story.

Its possible he paid his way out, but usually even than he Would have to plead to some kind of deal, and that Would be pubic record.

Maybe the case is still going? I have no clue, but if it's all done, my guess is he snitched.
