This is a fight I would've never thought about. I'll admit it's a weird fight with no relevance to rankings but after thinking about it I'm somewhat interested.
I know the critics will be saying "Bradley has no power, Canelo has power, power, power power!!!!!" but I look at it a little closer than that.
Bradley has quick hands and feet and can get in and out very fast. He's versatile and has a good workrate, stamina and recovery to where he will have advantages in the later rounds.
My biggest concern is that he hasn't looked great lately, have no idea what Atlas is doing with him and yes: his size and POWER!!! disadvantage. But I still think he is skilled enough to make this an entertaining back and forth fight that would be worth watching.
I love the kid reference. If you can see the set of skills Bradley brings to the table, well, Can't help![/QUOT
Basco, I do see the skills he brings. I see nothing spectacular besides his will and competitive streak. He is a good fighter in all aspects, but he is not a slickster, a huge puncher or a defensive genius. He is tough, and determined. I think Canelo really hurts him. He was hurt multiple times with Provodnikov. He was hurt badly with Vargas. Pac had him stung to the point where he really didn't try to attack. This guy has taken alot of punches and did you see the punches Kirkland was taking. If Bradley gets hit like that he won't beat the count. Kirkland is big too, but he is a natural 154 pounder. Bradley is a jr. welterweight swoll up on weights. Yeah i know he used to fight at alot higher weight in the amateurs, but those are 3 round fights. You see alot of guys train harder and get into better shape for the pro game. If Bradley comes in flailing away with pitty pat punches , he will get countered and get hurt. If he tries to box he will stay away for awhile , but once Canelo gets close it is over. I actually think Rios beats Timmeh.
Well, after last night, I still hold my ground. It would be an interesting fight!
I have no problem with it, people complaining about weight advantage.. I figure, **** it.. there have been greater fighters to deal with 15-20 pound weight disadvantage. If Bradley wants the challenge at 154/155 then so be it. This is the fight game!
Not sure how Bradley gets Canelo's respect though.. this is a business.
