Saying all that, the likes of Badou Jack and Martin Murray are realistic unification fights for DeGale, and now that Ward's moved up to 175 there's a good chance for him to assert himself as the best in the division. That's IF he achieves his potential. It'll be interesting to see how he does in this next fight.

I like this fight a lot, but I'd hardly call it massive in Vegas. Its a f#cking Swedish mfer (by way of Gambia or wherever) vs a UK mfer. This would be one of those fights that might be bigger in the UK than the US. I mean idk how popular DeGale is in the UK, but its gotta be more popular than Jack is in the US.Comment

Also DeGale would be giving Jack a 'shot' as much as the other way round. It's a unification, not challenger vs champion.
I don't even like DeGale, he's shown himself to be a bit of a tool but I do respect his willingness to fight away from home and against legit competition. Kind of like Froch actually.Comment

The Groves fight build up completely soured whatever support he had from winning the Olympic gold and from then until maybe the Gonzalez fight he was barely even talked about.
Since Groves turned out to be a massive wanker and Degales been on Sky though I think people have warmed to him. He gets a lot more opportunities to do youtube interviews with IFL (kinda like a UK Elie Sechbach) and he comes across pretty well.
Defintely not taking many fans to Vegas though.Comment
