Who even wrote this article?! DeGale/Jack in Vegas would be lucky to sell 3,000 tickets. Move that damn fight to Europe where it belongs and where people would be somewhat excited.

Lol. DeGale hasn't even defended his title in the UK yet for you to even say that is reaching. DeGale is so low on the totem pole that he's relegated to facing what many perceive is a washed-up Lucian Bute in Montreal (except Bute's got more than enough to end DeGale's little dream).

Yeah he wasn't even fighting and got a biggest ovation of the night when he came up on the big screen at the last UK show he was at.

Relegated? He'll be earning major money to go to Canada to fight Bute. I think you're still bitter that DeGale topped your favourite fighter's biggest purse and best win in his first world title fight. Ouch. So much for being low on the totem poll.

I'm not bitter, he's getting paid to give Bute his title back. As far as how much he's earning, it's Haymon play money. It has no relevance to actual market value, otherwise Chunky would still be earning below $500k w/ no doubt.

It never ceases to amaze me how what could be a good honest boxing discussion devolves into petty bickering on here. Come on like! Grow up.

Anyway, yeah, DeGale's obviously a bit disillusioned if he truly believes that fight would be 'massive' in Vegas. I believe he's also disillusioned when it comes to an honest assessment of his abilities as a fighter - he wants to go in for these unification fights as soon as possible when it seems clear to me that he's kinda lucky to be where he is now and should probably take a few easy fights and try to make as much money as he can before he's toppled. Or maybe he should be praised for having such an attitude! Time will tell I suppose whether or not his belief is misplaced.

DeGale has never been one to go "The Golovkin Route".

This is a man who actually signed to fight Andre Ward for peanuts last year. DeGale needs a challenge to perform at his best.

And yes he should be praised for having this kind of attitude. We need more fighters like Chunky.

your right, but they both have good points to be honest.

It's obvious if you watch him that he's nowhere near enough ready for Ward. Let the man take a few fights first, build himself up step by step, then take on the likes of Ward when he's fit to give him a decent challenge. If he honestly believes that he can beat p4p#2 at this point he's got a few screws loose. I'm all for fighters taking on the highest challenge and the best fighting the best, I got right behind Lemieux when he fought the middleweight monster, but you've got to have a bit of savvy about you and how you plan your career too. Take the fight when you're truly ready for it, not now when you're gonna lose your world title and perhaps fall into obscurity never to come back again.

I would be extremely shocked if Bute won.

Degale is a damn good boxer and he is coming into his own now after winning the title against a very tough opponent. His confidence has to be at an all-time high.
