"Thunder Stikes Again" With Gatti KO

Arturo "Thunder" Gatti, boxing's "pound-for-pound most exciting fighter", sent the sold-out Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall crowd home deliriously happy with another knockout victory; he also, more than likely, sent veteran ring warrior Jessie James Leija home to a well earned retirement. Tzyu, PBF, Spink, or Judah... any of these would be good in my book.

I know that Gatti is blood and guts a great fighter but skill wise he can't match up with kostya tzsyu or Mayweather. Gatti is best known for his wars against Ward who wasn't a great fighter either. Gatti sells tickets but once he fights a Mayweather or Tzsyu it will be a repeat of what happened when he faced Oscar DeLaHoya.

Gatti has had some memorable fights, a couple of which earned fight of the year nominations. The Micky Ward fight was not the first memorable fight of his career. He fought Ivan Robinson, twice, and both times it earned fight of the year nomination if I recall correctly. He also fought Wilson Rodriguez who also earned fight of the year nomination. When he fought Delahoya, the Golden Boy was in his prime. There's no shame in losing to one of the greats.

I think Gatti can handle the likes of Tszyu and Mayweather b/c he has fought similar type fighters before, not to mention his incredible chin, heart and one punch knockout power. I think he would matchup better with Tszyu b/c Tszyu is not as fast as Mayweather, and quick guys are what give Gatti problems. I still say though that he can take both of these guys. It would probably have to come on KO however.

Gatti is my favorite fighter. I have never seen a fighter with so much heart and that is why he is my favorite. He may not have the best skillz I have ever seen, but they are good enough. He knows how to throw a punch and put together combinations and has incredible power. Most people say overrated but I say underrated. Anyhow thats my 2 cents.
