They allowed Wilder to do so because Povetkin keeps asking the WBC for more time. Is Wilder supposed to sit until April? As I askef earlier, I thought the next fight was supposed to be a mandatory when you win a vacant WBC belt. That's why Stiverne had to fight Wilder as his first defense.

That's how it goes when you win a vacant belt I believe.

Povetkin is fighting today and this is his second fight since Wilder won the title. My question is if he is fighting other opponents why would he ask for more time to fight Wilder and what source do you have that says that he in fact has done that? They were also suppose to start negotiating the fight in October and its now November 4th, have they started?

Povetkin beat Perez in the WBC eliminator on May. He then became the WBC mandatory. He's known since May that he's the mandatory and waited until August, after the WBC said negotiations were to start on October, to schedule a Nov fight with Wach. He fought one round in May and waited to months to schedule another fight. Today his team told the WBC he won't be ready until May or April. In the meantime Wilder is staying active. If team Povetkin isn't stalling why did they schedule a fight in November after the WBC ordered negotiations to start on October for a January fight?

c'mon Postol jump in the fire, the guy that was the 140 WBC champion before Postol fought a boxing superstar in Amir Khan in his first defense, and it wasn't a mandatory defense but Postol can't fight a high ranked fighter???

I have no problem with waiting for this one. I'm high on Imam and it gets him the opportunity to have another fight before fighting for the title, which is definitely a good thing at his age. As for Postol, maybe a fight against Herrera would be a good one and I'm sure HBO would be interested in that, but I most certainly do not want to see him against Matthysse again. Been there, done that.
