Comments Thread For: Sanchez: Golovkin Will Go Anywhere To Face Carl Froch!

WBA/IBO/IBF middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs) is still very interested in facing Carl Froch, according to the champion's head trainer Abel Sanchez.

Froch (33-2, 24KOs) has been inactive since his big rematch win in May 2014, when he knocked out George Groves before a crowd of 80,000 fans.

I'm one of golovkins biggest fans but I can see why people can hate on him,and its actually because of abels big mouth. If you guys want to stick to unifying the 160lb belts, then go for it. But don't start talking about wanting to fight 168 lb fighters, and expect not to be called out on not wanting to fight EVERY 168 lb fighter.

Of course you will. An ageing retired fighter who you think will be easy to hit and will give you a nice payday.

Sorry but Froch isn't going to get out of bed for a guy who sells 97k PPVs when he did 900k in his last fight.

I've never heard of a fighter taking a paycut to come out of retirement.

It was all good when he was calling him out, when he was active. But now that he is retired....that is BS. I know that $$$ is the reason why, but come on, you want to face a retired fighter and not Ward in two more fights?(i know it would be a shi.tty deal, but at least you would prove you are not "afraid" of him)

I think he might be persuaded because he will get the much bigger slice of the pie given GGG's 1st ppv folded, especially if the guy that brought GGG to hbo gets Herschman's job.

IT's worth it to overpay Froch to get GGG a big ppv. EVen though Froch will be driving sales, GGG would get the credit.

Carl Froch is the A-side a big fighter, you just have to accept it.
Us Brits bring a lot to the table plus it would easily be a big scale PPV fight that could sell out Wembley, any Carl Froch fight is big and with GGG hype continually growing this would be all action and impact.
Andre Ward is small time, nobody knows him yet he wants everyone to either go up in weight for him or go down, deal with it baby A-SIDE B1TCHES!!

Is this fight still a thing? I'll be a little annoyed if GGG moves up to fight a past-it Froch, I thought it was all about unifying 160.. And Ward and Froch are the same size.
