Team ggg knows he can't beat Ward. Pretty simple

Well it is established that Golovkin is a 'money' fighter. And I never doubted that.

But then tell me, which established star isn't? It is just a question of how diva-ish a fighter is gonna be with that.

No. The previous fighter had it right - it is all about risk:reward. Ward won't fight DeGale because of the same reason - moderate risk-low reward. Krusher is high risk/medium to high reward . It's that simple. All this striving for greatness BS is just talk.

His ratings on free TV Channel 5 against a Brit, Murray, were horrendous. Was like the 38th most watched thing on Channel 5 that week.

            Channel 5 ffs

He pulled 6.1 million in Mexico, 2 million in Germany, and 1 million in England when he fought Murray.

Yadyadayada, if team ggg thought he could beat Ward, this fight would have been made. Bad news, they don't believe lil g can beat Ward.

Well the pure boxing analysis is this. GGG looks at Froch and Ward. Both are 168 fighters. He is looking for the fairest sporting contest.

Froch is less talented than Ward. Has a great resume but is getting on in years. Golovkin wants a fair sporting contest so he'll let Froch have it at 168 so as not to swing the fight to much in favor of himself.

Ward. Ward is one heck of a fighter and very dangerous opponent even if he would be a middleweight. But he is not a middleweight. He's a SMW and P4P #1 according to many. A proper sporting contest where it's a 50/50 fight should be at 164. "Wait! Ward can't make 164 - that is not my problem."

That is the way of looking at fights outside your own division. Inside your own division it is all-comers and stick by the rules.

I love Golovkin as a fighter but I'm on record saying many times that the hype far exceeds his proven ability.
