Comments Thread For: Collins: Eubank Didn't Request Spike, Sky/Matchroom Did

Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan will use 'mind games' ahead of his WBA middleweight title eliminator against Chris Eubank Jr on December 12, according to trainer Paschal Collins.

In 1995, Eubank Jr's father Chris Eubank famously surrendered his world title and his unbeaten record to Collins' brother Steve, who had claimed in the lead-up to the bout that he was undergoing hypnotherapy and would be immune to the champion's punches.

Paschal Collins feels Eubank Jr could be vulnerable to similar psychological tactics from O'Sullivan whom he likens to MMA kingpin and fellow Irishman Conor McGregor.

Yeah except Eubank Jr is closer to his dad than Spike is to Steve Collins. Eubank is going to be too much for O'Sullivan to handle.

Saunders exposed O'Sullivan. Junior mangles him.

Exposed? Eubank didn't throw a punch for six rounds and he still lost a close UD. BJS clearly won but it was far from "exposing"

To repeat, Saunders clearly outscored O'Sullivan, exposed his sole dimension. Junior will do similar, but with venom.

I don't know if you watched the Saunders vs Sullivan fight but Saunders was doing whatever he pleased for the whole 12 rounds boxing, slugging and pressing sullivan back without taking nothing back. That was a embarrassment and exposed that he is a very low level boxer. People now have the nerve to say after knocking out a couple of Al Haymon set ups now he has this Golovkin power.

The Eubank fight was a split decision so lets not compare. You can argue he won the fight. You can't argue Sullivan as it was 120 - 108 no dispute.

Spike is dreadful, he lost a complete an utter one sided affair with Saunders. The only reason it went the 12 is because Saunders doesn't have a punch.

Eubank should stop this guy and totally out class him.

My bad, I misread it. I though he supposedly 'exposed' Eubank.

Any way you slice it up Spike is a good test for Eubank.

If BJS had decent conditioning he would have schooled young Chris for the full 12 rounds.

People who talk about Eubanks being some kind of beast just like watching him beat up polish bricklayers.

Spike will bring the fight to Eubank, and he will try and get into his head.

It's a good match up IMO.
