Comments Thread For: Froch: Frampton Not The Favorite, It's 50-50 Now

Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch is very excited about the recently finalized super bantamweight unification between IBF champion Carl Frampton (21-0, 14KOs) and WBA champion Scott Quigg (31-0-2, 23KOs).

The two sides closed the deal on Monday, with a scheduled date of February 27th at the Manchester Arena.

I've noticed more and more people picking Quigg lately. Doug Fischer picked Quigg years ago, but that flat performance in Frampton's last fight probably doesn't help.

Watch the fight again, after a shaky first round Frampton regained his composure, came out and dominated against a live young unbeaten opponent.

Just going off their last fights Frampton looked bad in El Paso and Quigg did destroy Kiko. But before that The Jackal looked to be a cut above.

I would probably still favor Frampton but he has to put on a better performance than he did against Gonzalez .

Rewatch the Frampton fight, he fought well. Those two flash knockdowns in the first round mean very little. He went in with the wrong attitute, that's all. He won't be underestimating Quigg, and if he boxes well like he can, he'll dominate all night.

Quigg won well to be fair, can't really take it away from him, though he too suffered a bad first round. He done well to land a right hook to the body early in the second round and capitalised well, jumped on his man, put him down once, then came out swinging when he got back up. Left hook, right hook, left hook, right hook etc etc... He couldn't miss. But yeah, a good win.
