this wouldn't be the first time a fighter couldn't get fights in his division, so he moves up for some willing opponents
gennady Should Move Up In Weight

I think should too coz I don't see the money fights for him getting made unless it happens at a CW he refuses to fight at (understandably ) and none is really legacy making fight at 160 left for him . he needs to fight ward at 168 -
Grandpa Bernard couldn't get big fights either but stuck around and eventually got his big fight in Trinidad at the age of 36 followed by an Oscar fight not long after. Golovkin just needs to wait a bit and see what happens with the WBC situation and then go from there. No need to do anything else right this minute.Comment

His first goal is to consolidate the MW division. He's on target for that.
After that, he might decide move up to 168. It is frustrating for most fans: people who don't do anything creative or outstanding with their own lives, to wait for somebody else to fulfill their longtime stated goals before jumping ahead to future goals. But people who actually achieve things stay focused on the immediate next goal. One goal at a time.
Most people don't know this, because they don't DO anything themselves.Comment

The same people who wanted Rigo to move up, after cleaning out everyone willing to fight, don't want GGG to do the same. I see right through itComment

LOL! I called it last week...Ward has announced that they are looking to move up and fight Kovalev...NOW its time for lil g to move up....lol, he's a joke. Such pure unadulterated cowardice, lol he's gonna go for a challenge in Chavez Jr, lol. Ward pulled his skirt up over his head and exposed him for the pooosy he is.Comment

... but who would GGG fight at SMW in 2017?... Maybe Andre Ward (but only maybe -- in case the guy would still fights at 168, if he fights at all)... All the other guys left (of some notice) are signed with Haymon.Last edited by MDPopescu; 11-03-2015, 08:25 AM.Comment

Hasn't fought at 168 since 2013.
How is Ward a "money fight" even if he was at 168?
GGG had a big money fight at 168, even signed the contract but Chavez Jr chose to run the other way.Comment

Wards the big money fight because all the haters would be all in on Ward. And it's the haters that drive the PPV. As popular as GGG is it's obvious people aren't paying to see him fight 16 to 1 underdogs.Comment

Politically, it is virtually impossible for any fighter to unify all of the belts in their division these days. Golovkin has a real chance to achieve this. He is also lined up to make several million dollars for a fight with the canelo/cotto winner.
Why the **** would he go to 168 now?Comment
