Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz Wants To Get Payback on Gary Russell Jr.

They fought as amateurs and Gary Russell Jr. (26-1, 15KOs) edged it, so now as professionals their destinies are again in line to collide - but this time Leo Santa Cruz (31-0-1, 17KOs) is determined to walk away with the victory.

At the World Boxing Council's spectacular Convention in Kunming, China, Leo who's been WBC super bantamweight champion, and is currently the WBC Diamond featherweight champion, says the next step is to take on Russell, who holds the WBC's full title at 126-pounds and defends it next Saturday night against Oscar Escandon.

      No Stepping Back

No stepping back towards fighting tomato cans Leo.
Fight guys who are at your talent level and status in general.
Gary Russell Jr., Cuellar, or Mares Rematch.
For sure you don't want Rigo yet.

          LOL @ taco vendors...

A potential Russell-Santa Cruz fight in 2016 would be great. As mentioned before, he wants no parts of Rigo...

Rigo wants no part of 126, or of boxing for that matter

Good mentality on behalf of Leo. I gave him a lot of crap prior to his Win over Mares, but he deserves some respect if he continues to strive for the best fights possible under the PBC banner.

Who's this Rigo? Oh, you mean the guy whom committed career suicide not too long ago? . How tragic, one of the only fighter boxing hipsters gargle, suffering his lone and career ending defeat outside of the ring, what a pity.

If only in ring IQ translated to actual intelligence outside of it.
