Comments Thread For: Arthur Abraham Gets Training Boost With Return of Coach

Training is underway for Arthur Abraham (43-4, 29 KOs) as he prepares for his WBO World Super Middleweight Championship contest with Britain’s Martin Murray (32-2-1, 15 KOs) on November 21 at the TUI Arena in Hannover, Germany.

As the Berlin-boxer readies himself for a fifth successive defence of his WBO strap, the former 160 lbs ‘King’ turned super middleweight supremo has been bolstered by the return of his long-standing coach and mentor Ulli Wegner who had been sidelined with an Achilles injury. never been a fan of wegner boxers. the only wegner guy who can get out of the way of punches is vitali, and he basically relied exclusively on his size to do it.

still, there's a lot to be said about the level of comfort that comes wehn an athlete is able to get back to his routines, and having somebody looking after him who he can trust.

i wish these two the best. abraham is a decent fighter, and he's got brass balls. anyboduy remember when miranda cracked his jaw in half? he aimed the rest of his shots for the abraham's nuts

i never understood why a guy whose opponent had a broken jaw would throw for the nuts. what do i know?

      You're confusing Wegner with Sdunek.

I saw that fight on a stream when it happened. That was crazy, Abraham quit, the ref stopped the fight, but then miraculously his corner convinced the ref that Abraham didn't quit when Abraham was clearly shown as if he didn't want the fight, and iirc he told the ref he can't continue. Still after that fight was when I became a huge fan of AA, because he did get a second chance unfailry, but took advantage of that chance and won. It was a close fight, Miranda was deducted a total of 5 points for intentional headbutts and low blows.
