LOL...damn, Cotto really gets the hate here. He just said the same thing he's being saying from day 1. "IF" GGG is my best "option" meaning MONEY, I'll fight the guy. Now, I wont fight him @ full MW and if he wants to fight me he'll need to accept my terms, PERIOD! He hasn't change his stand at any time. But what I really believe is going to happen, if the fight is as expected or seen on paper, a competitive, action pack close fight, then I think Cotto/Canelo will drop the MW belt and do a rematch for the Jr. MW belt. Now, Cotto will squeeze every single drop of the MW strap as long as the WBC permits him, and I can't blame him for that!!!

Cotto's legacy is set. His prime was at welterweight and he will be a hall of famer regardless. That said he should vacate the title because he is not big enough to fight at 160 without advantages. Stop blocking these other fighters' legacies.

He's right in that he doesn't need Golovkin and he's undersized, don't think anyone will have a problem if he steps aside.

But making fights only for the $$$ aspect of it is quite sad. I'm a firm believer in risk/reward ratios.

It is shaping up to be a big embarrassment for Cotto-Canelo winner. Maybe being beat up by GGG is not that bad - like lesser of two evils. Do you remember any other high profile fight when there were more talks and discussions regarding some other third fighter potentially down the line than about fighters who are taking the ring?

GGG offered 164 with no financial compensation, period. He pulled that A-Side BS on Ward, and Cotto/Canelo are doing the exact same thing to him. Mandatory or not, GGG isn't getting that fight without bowing to the terms of the draw. Cotto/Canelo being stripped isn't gonna make GGG any money, so the quicker he understands his place, the faster he can get his money fight.
