Comments Thread For: Mosley: Smith Wants To Keep Belt Locked Up in The UK

SHANE MOSLEY has slammed the newly crowned WBO light-middleweight champion Liam Smith and has claimed the Brit was never interested in fighting him.

The former three-weight world champion had agreed a deal in principle to fight the Liverpudlian on the main card of Andy Lee’s WBO middleweight title defence against Billy Joe Saunders in Manchester on December 19.

i sort of Believe Mosley, Everyone know Frank Warren loves a crazy contract offer, i remember when he tried making the Eubank Jr v Spike fight . the contract was if you beat Eubank you have to fight your next 3 fights on BoxNation for so much, Spikes manager told everyone on twitter when they declined it,

“Then they call back and say Paco [Valcarcel] from the WBO refused to sanction the fight. So I called Paco and he said he had never even been spoken to by Warren or anyone in his camp about it and the ratings meeting was the day before and they didn't bring it up.”
      Oh LAWD.

Fans need to understand that all promoters do this. Mosley is a voluntary challenger and is being gifted a title shot. Rematch clauses are standard and sometimes promoters ask for options. ****, look at some of the Klitschko's contracts people have signed in the past. "If you beat me, you have to fight my brother" lol.

I don't really know what to believe in this situation. Smith shouldn't be scared of Mosley at this age and it's a good fight to get his name out there. I'm thinking Warren maybe wants this fight to top its own bill in Liverpool or something. He is struggling to put together shows that fans actually want to pay to see.

True they do but if it is as bad as Shane says then I fully understand why Frank having a tough time putting shows together.
He seems really pleased he's put together Jones v Mac while ok stating that he would like to see Jones retire but I'm sure were any other promoter putting together such a dangerous match he would be up in arms.

                  Meh

I'd give more of a **** if Mosley was anything more than a name building exercise.

Still just don't understand WTF Shane is doing.

He's one of the very few guys who got a Floyd and a Manny payday and somehow he's still sticking around.

Wish he would just know who he is and be comfortable with reality and stay retired. He still gets respect, but not on the freak show circuit. He is not B-Hop, it will end badly.
