Why not Manny Pacquiao vs. Viktor Postol?

I think Viktor Postol by beating Lucas Matthysse deserves a shot at Manny Pacquiao.

But I know Bob Arum won't do it. He'll put Pacquaio in with another no-hoper, someone like the feather-fisted Chris Algieri.

Postol made just $100,000 for fighting Matthysse, and has never had a decent payday in his life.

    He deserves better!

Its sad that people are clinging on to the idea that Pac has it in him anymore.

Its over - most these new guys will beat Pac. He's lacking power, speed and mental fortitude. The Pac from 09-10 is gone and he's never coming back. Asking for a fight against Postal or Crawford is asking to watch Pac get beat in a humiliating, De La Hoya esque fashion.

Pac vs Matthyse - two faded, physically declining and mentally withdrawn fighters in a fan friendly affair, live on HBO WCB is what you all should be clamoring for. Its a safe fight that none of the other two will get seriously hurt in.

Does nothing for Pac. Would be viewed as another Algeri fight. I don't believe that's what it would actually be at all. Postol is legit. But, the public wouldn't go for it, would be a flop, and Pac gains nothing from it.

I see Viktor as a 140lber & I see Manny as a 147lber. Viktor hasn't done anything @ 147. Hell I'm a fan, but he's barely done anything @ 140 yet. He's not earned a big fight with the biggest name left in the sport.

I think Algieri is on the PBC side of the fence right now so that ain't happening. Manny is a HOF cat, he can go out anyway he wants to. It seems obvious Bob is trying to line up Crawford.

He's not really done anything is the thing. When you've only had 1 big fight as the B side, $100k is solid payday. I'm sure now that he beat a guy like Lucas he'll start earning more money + there are some really fun fights for him at 140. I think Postol vs Crawford vs Imam is one of the most fun 3ways in any division in boxing right now. So he's got some $$$ coming. Patience.

That fight most likely makes the least amount of money out of all the options

What's the point? I think Pacquiao is looking for a retirement fight, he should fight Victor Ortiz or some crap to rival the Berto fight.

A 100k is more than a doctor makes in the UK, after many, many years of study and sacrifice. So he has most definitely had a "decent payday".

Now having said that, Postol v Pacquiao is more of a legacy fight than Crawford, same way as Pac/Brook is better than Pac/Khan but obviously guys like TC and Khan bring a larger fanbase and more name recognition.

I'd prefer Pac at 147 though and spend his next 2-3 fights unifying the belts leading into retirement.
