    Three division world champion Leo Santa Cruz (31-0-1, 17KOs) has arrived in Kunming, China for the 53 Annual Convention of the World Boxing Council. He plans to inform the WBC that he intends to vacate the championship at super bantamweight, and plans to remain in the featherweight division.

      this sets up the santa cruz gary russel clash if im not mistaken russel holds the wbc title at 126. i been wanting to see it for awhile i think its a great style matchup no doubt this fight happens in the next year if not sooner

          I hope Haymon builds them up by putting them on the same PBC card. Maybe even get it on FOX or ESPN PBC broadcast for the actual fight.

            Would have LOVED to see him fight Ceja, but maybe that fight can still happen down the line a little. So maybe GRJ vs LSC next year. No problem with that.

                me too gary russel already been calling him out my guess is russel mares will happen first. then again knowing the wbc they may order it right now

                  Seeing someone show any sort of respect for Leo on NSB is such an unusual thing. The guy was just repeatedly shat on until he beat Mares. I always felt people should give him the benefit of the doubt and he ended up proving he earned it.

                  About dropping the belt, yea, refreshing to see it not turned into a big ordeal.
