Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has brushed off the recent verbal jabs from Freddie Roach, trainer for WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.

Roach stated in an interview that Canelo "was not capable of doing anything better than Cotto" and was highly critical of the Mexican star's level of opposition and the inexperience of his coaching team.

Canelo will challenge Cotto for his world title on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The fight will headline an HBO Pay-Per-View event.

Very respectable response from Canelo's trainer. I would be surprised If Cotto makes It beyond the 10th round with the way his face falls apart when getting hit.

That's what I was thinking. DSG either is having a bad day or just can't stand anyone disagreeing with his opinion on stuff.

I've always thought Canelo and his trainers had a good level headed outlook on things. And Roach has admitted he talks too much. I think Roach is a better trainer than Reynoso, but Reynoso is more level headed. Having said that, I'd be quite shocked if Cotto beats Canelo. But we'll find out soon enough.
