    Well, good for him....
But money gets to even the best of them...

I doubt he'll fight again... Ehat motivation? Who can make a lot of money? Even a fight with Matthysse doesn't sound so appeticing now :/

But prices are adjusted. There's even things that are more expensive there than they are in the US, like technology and cars. Argentine people come to the US a lot just to purchase something, because it's too expensive in Argentina. An example is iPhone cost about $850 in US, but in Argentna it costs the equivalent of $3,500 US dollars. I've met a lot of Argentine people in my old job and they all tell me the same thing, they come to the US to buy things because it's too much in Argentina.

Yeah he should, the cost of living in Argentina is adjusted to inflation so it's not like rent or mortgage or property tax is in the 3 digit range. It's msrked up to thousands of pesos. In other words the US dollar being 15 pesos there doesn't mean you get to buy a lot of things with that. A gallon of milk will be adjusted to cost like 45 pesos which is $5 US dollars ($3.60
            In US).

He is well off though, i'm not saying he should panic, i'm just pointing out that $6million dollars in Argentina does not make your wallet more untouchable than in the US.

It doesn't work that way - 99 million pesos doesn't have the same buying power as USD$99million. A car still costs about the same in any country depending on taxes. In Ecuador a car costs twice as much as in the US because of high taxes. But gas is only $1.50 as its subsidized. Property will be cheaper in Argentina than for comparable in the US - but not 13 times cheaper.

Still, anyway you cut it, $6million US is a nice chunk - should set you up for life if you don't have expensive habits or don't have expensive people around you.

I don't get it. Maybe it's because I'm not in Maidana's shoes, but I don't see why he didn't come back from those 2 great showings vs Floyd and keep adding numbers to his bank account. He had great momentum, new fame, glory and fortune. A new child and his name grew after those 2 fights.

If he is done then I'd like to thank the man for bringing it each and every time out, except for the Alexander fight lol. I just hope he stays retires and doesn't come back if he's running low on funds

What a legend. One of my favourite fighters this era and such a cool guy. Always made great fights and he's earned his retirement. He was never really into boxing, so the fact he made it as far as he did and showed the vast improvement over the second half of his career proves his heart, not that it ever needed proving.

As much as I'd want to see him come back and take a few more fights, I'm happy that he's done what he did, especially the Broner fight (great memories Maidana......) and is probably going to give it away on his own terms. He's really got nothing left to do frankly.

Obviously there are still some good fights at 147, and if he does take a bit of time then come back, great, but he really doesn't need to.

                      Cheers to Maidana!
