Comments Thread For: GBP VP: Pacquiao-Matthysse Still a Goal Down The Line

The Vice President of Golden Boy Promotions, Eric Gomez, is still hoping to secure a major fight, sometime in the future, for Lucas Matthysse (37-4, 34KOs).

Earlier this month, Matthysse fought Viktor Postol for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title. Matthysse was a big favorite to win, but he was troubled by the style of Postol. In the end Matthysse was hit with a hard shot to the eye and went down for the full count of ten in the tenth.

I mean damn...I guess Floyd's camp isn't the only camp using Pacquiao's name to promote their fighters

Styles make fights, if Lucas can put together a string of wins and Pacquiao still wants to fight on; sure why not

I thought Manny was done after his next fight?
Has there even been a joint card between Golden Boy and Top Rank since they he had the meeting with Arum.

Arum doesn't even like Haymon and has talked about Khan as a possible opponent. Never hear any Golden Boy fighters mentioned though.

OK, remember that comment folks..... that kills the " retirement fight " rubbish that Arum will pull when he announces Pac/Vargas

I always said that earlier report saying Pac will fight 3 more times was likely.

Golden Boy is desperate. After Cotto knocks Canelo, their 3 best fighters will have suffered stoppage losses in the span of 2 months. I don't even know who their 4th best fighter is. Linares?
