Hypothetically, if GGG becomes a star does the IBO belt go up in value?

I'm not implying that's what we need if that's what you inferred. Simply stating facts that if the guys who beat Klitschko and Golovkin don't drop the IBO belts it will be there to stay and whoever beats those two will probably have at least 3 other belts with them.

The only way these belts split is if the organizations decide to strip the next champion or the next champion refuses to pay the fees.

Idk that GGG really plays into this all that much, but being realistic I do believe the IBO title to be a less seriously taken "5th belt" like the WBO belt was considered a less seriously taken 4th belt back a few decades ago. Its only a matter of can the IBO do whatever the WBO did back in the day to legitimize itself. Tbqh I'm not even sure what happened or when exactly it happened that the WBO quit being the 4th belt & started being one of THE belts.

it would take more than just him. The IBF wasnt a major belt but they did the same type of thing, giving belts to high profile fighters in Larry Holmes, Aaron Pryor, Marvin Hagler and Donald Curry, who were already established champions from other organizations. And "In Holmes' case, he relinquished his WBC title to accept the IBF's recognition. It established the IBF as the "third" sanctioning body, and a legitimate organization." I'm sure the IBO is following the same blueprint.

Honestly though we don't want more belts we want less. So either the IBO can go fu ck off or they replace a sanctioning body, such as the WBA. Hopefully one day boxing can get back to one or two belts in a division and that's it. Which is why I always hope guys unify divisions so that there is clarity and one single champ, which I thought all boxing fans wanted but ever since the Golovkin scenario came out apparently there are an equal amount if not more fans of imaginary weight classes and "A-side" politics (theyd rather not have a unification fight happen because one guy is more of a celebrity and should have the right to invent rules and be above the sport).

I don't think so. For that to happen, he would literally have to become a spokesperson for them. He'd have to vacate the rest of the titles and probably even start wearing their ring patches like on his regular street clothes or something like that.

But as it is right now, I don't think most people, not even most hardcore boxing fans, know who has which ABC title all of the time. And I like it that way.

Hopefully not, if anything they MUST get rid of a lot of the belts that are out there, we got like 6 champs per division sometimes, this is ridiculous.

I think it is gaining steadily in value and GGG will add a little bit to it's prestige. Some great fighters have been a WBO champion and GGG would be another great WBO champion

This is all just speculation, one or two fighters holding an organization's belt won't make it on the same level instantly.

Let's not forget even Roy Jones Jr. was the WBC, WBA, IBF, NBA, WBF, IBO, IBA, and The Ring Champion at 175.
