Comments Thread For: Al Haymon, PBC Target TV Invasion in The UK

AL HAYMON remains a mystery man in boxing - but he is ready to change the face of the sport in [the UK].

The influential American boxing advisor - who was also a major player in the music industry - has already begun his revolution Stateside with the introduction of the 'Premier Boxing Champions' series on terrestrial television.

This could do something for boxing in the UK if it was on ITV free-to-air, but most people don't have the BT Sport channels on Freeview so it's not going to have much impact.

ITV and channel 5 would be ideal. It can be done. It's been successful before and should be a success if it happens again.Haymon's clearly got a plan up his sleeve and if he markets his product accordingly and correctly,it'll be better in the UK than it is in America.

Of course he said wants Kell Brook. Given his relationship with Hearn, he'll be featuring him either way.

DeGale hasn't even seen the man in person.

Haymon is good for boxing's exposure.

I don't really don't know were haymon can take this over here...we have box nation which a subscription channel for 10 (15 dollars) but we get HBO shows on that as well showtime and PBC , We have sky tv which use to be really big with all the match ups but now THYE are very hit and miss ....Barry hearns puts all his fights on that channel when he he has a big fight.....so I'm sure he won't be happy with haymon trying to quigg and brook now......I can you this from what I see....I don't like the way PBC events are set and to me it just feels very manufactured with no music ,no ring girls and the shows just seem industrial...weird shows....maybe he gonna steam roll warren and hearns over here and take there slices of the pie...I don't know what he is gonna do....hearns stable also has joshua....which could be the future golden egg....itv could play apart if there's money to be made They have 4 channels And they was a big player in the sport a few years back....maybe he is looking at that

                  "PBC going broke doe"

This is more than I was expecting, anytime soon anyway. The UK market seems like a more loyal boxing fanbase market these days to, so this should be an interesting move. I'd like to see something happening in Mexico too. They should have a base of operations in Mexico. And they need to get into a Asian place if possible cuz the lower weight divisions are so overlooked & under considered with Haymon's bankroll he could probably make some big fights there & unify to one champion if put in some effort.
