I've never really been too keen on Mayweather's eye for talent. I just don't think that it's something that he's very good at it. But I do like Davis, from what I've seen (I liked Gavril too though), but definitely need to see quite a bit more.

Floyd's "future of boxing" nominations go way back. I believe the first one was Weston Ferguson (who's claim to fame might be losing to Edner Cherry twice, once by KO). I think he's managing a Best Buy in Flint, MI these days.

All in all, this isn't anything strange really. Floyd's a promoter or attempting to be one anyway & he's supposed to hype his guys. Sure you could go back & see any promoter saying some bold **** about guys that are great & subpar as f#ck nowadays.

i dont think thats fair at all backing the guys you promote is not really the same as an eye for talent. he was basically left signing guys he could get super cheap that could compete. this kid is the real deal tho this is his first legit prospect imo unless u count love
