After all he'll be linear MIDDLEWEIGHT! champion wont he?? If Canelo & Cotto are not real middleweights then why fight for a 160 title?? It because you are BOTH scared to fight GGG cause you know you'll get an ass whuppin
simple answer for you, canelo is only fighting for the title cuz cotto has it, not like he has been chasing MW titles before, but he has been after cotto long before he had the title... this fight is not about the title, is much more than that...

      Naw, I don't mind debates.

About****ingtime just says the opposite of whatever others are saying. I've caught him switching positions just to argue.

      So I ignored him.

      And it's been joyful

      Really,

De La Hoya said the other day it was all about gaining that title

And if it's the case, Canelo can end all the pressure and say I'm vacating.

      He hasn't said that.

You know why, it's about Legacy. If Canelo wants to be great. He can't go around vacating a title and lineal all because he doesn't want to fight a tough GGG.

Especially if he continues to fight in the MW division, which he has for two years.

Last time Canelo fought under MW was Floyd.

      So it looks really bad.

But hey, Maybe Canelo isn't the warrior in the mold of Duran, Trinidad, Chevez, Hagler, Hearns, etc.

      Maybe that's not him.

Maybe he is content bring a popular Mexican fighter, but not a legend.

No fight propels Canelo into legend like beating GGG would.

Then again, Canelo gets KO'd, so maybe he is content ducking GGG.

Canelo has been chasing a Cotto fight for years, he DGAF about the title.

Golovkin should be chasing a Cotto fight too, AND a Canelo fight.

Whats up with the fighters of today.

Canelo fights at 155, and he will fight anybody.

Golovkin fights at 154-168, and he will fight nobody

oscar can say what he wants, but this fight isnt happening just because of the title , and is bigger than that, and by the way not that i encourage canelo to keep fighting at 155, but nothing has affected his popularity since he started doing it, the fact that he is willing to fight anybody at that weight will keep his fanbase intact... but again, i think if he plans to keep the MW belt then he better leaves the CWs, and if he is going to stay below MW then he needs to fight for the jmw wbc title and defend it at 154... we will see what happens when the time comes...

Has he ever taken so much heat like this because of a guy he won't fight.

You Canelo fans act like 155 up is an actual division. 155 is MW, and Canelo Rehydrates heavier than many MW, including GGG.

In the past Canelo hasn't ran from tough fights, but this time he is about to do something that never leaves your record, vacate a Belt and Lineal all because you are scared of a specific mandatory defense.

When Canelo signed to fight Cotto, he knew what was up. He knew he'd be called to fight GGG.

                    Now he is running scared.

He will of course keep most of his fans.

He vacates the belt, everyone will know why he did it.

And he will no longer be seen as a potential great.

How many times have you read about Trinidad, Hagler, Duran, Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Chevez, dropping the title as MW champ all because they didn't want to fight a specific guy who would be tough to beat.

                    Greats take challenges like this.

Canelo/GGG is the fight everyone wants.

The only reason it won't be made is because Canelo and Goldenboy are scared.

How the hell doesn't that impact Canelo's standing.

Except in this version Trinidad decides Vargas is is too scared and runs way from Vargus.
