How can he be top 5 GGG opponent when he beat 7 Ring top tenners, and this guy is nowhere near top 10, never fought a contender (fringe even), and coming up in weight?

Jack was a 10 fight soso prospect, and soon drew with Periban and got crushed by journeyman in 1. He wasnt top 50 then

I don't think that Golovkin fans want to see competitive fights in this sport. Not only do they openly root against Golovkin fighting a single opponent where he isn't a massive favorite, but now they are all over this thread, down on both knees, praying that Ward-Kovalev doesn't happen.

At 168 he's less proven than anyone Gggs has fought since he got on HBO 3 years ago. That he's unknown doesn't mean he's no good, but that's the case 99/100. I did watch his only bout on US TV on live broadcast though. He's better than Murdock, if that counts

I really wanted the Froch fight. IMO GGG wins, but that was plenty risky, esp with no warmups at 168 and in the UK

Sooooo what I'm getting is Rocnation is saying Ward is going to fight Kolavev and Ward signed a contract to fight him down the road with HBO and he's getting criticism for it???? So who can he fight. Yea it's a **** fight I'll admit but Ward isn't a coward and isn't calling out divisions and turning tail when the boogeyman comes... Alexander Brand is no 21 rated SMW so by my reckoning fighting any natural LHW between 11 and 21 would make more sense.

Sean Monaghan is at LHW 21 and has a name for some reason (I can't comprehend why). Gonzalez who in my mind beat Pascal is at LHW 36 - he'd be great for the second tune-up - cos lets face it, if you can't beat someone like Gonzalez ranked 36 you aint beating Kovalev 2 fights down the line. I'd be a ruthless matchmaker - no more pussying around!
