I have known Rico for a long time now. He came up fighting out of kronk just as his father had done before him. I agree, however that he did not look the greatest against Griffen, but few people ever have. Bill Miller worked his corner for the Woods fight and said that Rico just wasnt fighting like he normally did. Maybe it was the hostile english crowd that got to him or maybe it was the fact that this was his first title fight. Hey, Rico made a nice payday for his title fight, did not get seriously hurt and lived to fight another day. Jackie Kallen picked Rico up a while ago and as far as I know is still working with him. The guy has a future in the sport. One loss is nothin' when you learn from it.
Besides being a world class fighter Rico is a world class person. Gentlte, kind and considerate out side of the ring unlike so many that are admired by you guys. Rico was very young when getting his first title shot, it may have been too early for the fight for him yet he got in there and made his money with honor. He still has alot left and then some to offer the game.
Ill contact jackie to see if I can get an interview.
