The Rise and Fall of Andre Ward

Interesting article discussing how Andre Ward has somewhat fallen off since beating Froch and raises some good points of where should he go next.

    1) Can he still be considered the A side in negotiations?
    2) Will he travel?
    3) We need a big fight now! No more mismatches

Somewhat fallen???? lol. I think Ward's situation is one of the biggest downturns in boxing that didn't involve a guy losing a fight or having a medical issue or something. Although I'd give him til the Dawson fight before I'd say the fall started. People **** on Ward about the weight with the Dawson fight, but Dawson agreed to it & Dawson was a highly considered fighter at the time.

1)Obviously depends on who we are talking about. I think he's still a guy who can draw ratings in the right situation (ie not on BET or vs nobodies) so he still gots power, but anyone with PPV buys (hello GGG) has an edge over him without argument (imo) until he gets some PPV buys of his own.

2)Who cares. This has always seemed like a whatever thing to me. If you gotta go elsewhere to make fights, fair enough. I think Ward hasn't really needed to yet. If some big fight doesn't come off in the future because he won't fight outside of Cali than there is something to make a case about with this, but otherwise its a whatever thing.

3)Idk that anyone would disagree with that from the Ward fanboys to the Ward haters. I'm hopeful that worse case Ward will be fighting that Cuban cat or Jean Pascal for his 2nd fight of this HBO deal cuz even HBO gots to realize the current trajectory is a problem. I do admit I think thats the ceiling for the 2nd fight & maybe that pizza delivery guy Kovalev just fought or a guy who Kovalev has KTFO of is the middle & the floor is what he's been doing.

... as the article concludes I still think that Ward is after Golovkin OR Kovalev... but rather after Golovkin...

Ward haters have always been the most miserable c#%ts because he doesn't fold. Not morally, mentally, or in the ring. He was a big underdog in the Super 6 and rolled through everyone. He was in a massive contact dispute and stuck to his principles to defend his friend. He made it through that without folding. Now, Kkk fans are furious because they know their fanclub membership expires late 2016.

Didn't read the article, but I know the story enough. Ward came into the super 6 a relative underdog. He seized the moment en route winning the super 6 and emerging as a serious threat to Floyd's pfp king status. Because the fighters he dominated were better than those Floyd did.

Then he wanted to get paid like Floyd. But the sport isn't ran that way. He is not a star like Floyd, Pacman, or Cotto and Canelo. He didn't seem to understand that. He engaged in legal battle instead of squared circle battle. And in the few years since, hasn't done anything relatively related to his once held status.

But now the Floyd fans got his back cause GGG was a threat to Floyd at 154. (Where Floyd was a 3 time champion). Truth is Ward put himself here and it's a shame cause he is tremendously talented.

Most Floyd fans were already Ward fans before GGG came along...

                Hello Mr. Simon.

Seems the poster is the author from that gang website of boxing writers. Nice collective.

But let's not get it twisted about ''mismatches.''

Legit boxing writers didn't rave about Pac's fight at the Algieri catch, but with Floyd vs Berto there was...
