Please point out where Lara said he didn't want the fight at 160. What I comprehended and what was written is that Shields is giving his opinion...BUT then he said it is up to Lara and his management to make the decision.
Sounds like he didn't have this conversation with Lara or his team.
I really don't understand any fighter who calls out GGG and has descent boxing skills, the so called GGG fans are threaten and try to discredit them.
Lara said he wants GGG at 160, Shields says he can stay at 154.
Why should Lara shut up when he hasn't made one statement that he changed his mind about fighting G at 160?Comment

HBO is also thinking, we haven't shown a Haymon fighter in 2 years, do we really want to start with #1 on anti Gatti list Lara who dropped his pants vs Canelo, is making 1m for scrubs with terrible ratings, and is a total no hoper vs GGGComment

See How That Is; Nobody Anxious Moving Up To GGG
Canelo, Cotto, Lara all on record for not wanting to move up to 160 where GGG resides. Don't blame them. So let's quit talking about them. GGG wants to clean out 160, unify all the 160 belts at 160. Do the same st 154 if you're able!Comment

I wouldn't go up to the 160 division either! It's str8t GARBAGE. One fighter who is HEADACHE to deal with. And everyone else is milk carton material... Tons of GREAT fighters from 140-154.Comment

They already turned him down for Monroe.
They already had a chance to " call his bluff ", and they chose not to.Comment

go to 160 and campaign, show that your serious. You cant just call out names and because that fighter doesnt give you a handout call him a ducker. That is the ******est s.hit I have ever heard and yet these fighters like thurman etc are doing it and dumb casuals (who think they real boxing fans) condone it.Comment

You are th first.
Its always the same old rubbish..... boring, must prove himself at 160, not a draw, blah blah.Comment

They just dont want any hiccups and they dont want to risk GGG looking bad.
Fk that, I want to see GGG take the kind of fights he is obviously avoiding.
Fk supporting a guy for his entire career, and then wondering if he actually could have beaten difficult opponents with tricky styles.
Fk manufactured fighters, period.
Back in the day, those questions would have been answered by now.Comment
