I voted Ward has fought the weakest opposition of the three boxers. In the earlier part of his career during the super six tournament Ward faced very strong opposition. For the last 3 and a half years Ward has either not fought at all or fought very weak opposition.

I see your point, at the same time fighter accomplishments over their entire legacy is such a big part of p4p rankings for everybody. Imagine Floyd Mayweather comes back in 2017 and he beats Josecito Lopez (suppose he hasn't visibly aged in those two years), people would have him back at #1 or at least you'd have a lot of people talking about it, just because of how good he was historically. It might not matter what other fighters have done in that time frame.

Even with Floyd gone there's still the sense that nobody is really #1 p4p right now because of how far ahead of the pack he was and how much people respect his skills.

That's what I mean. It's absolute malpractice if he were to do that. P4P rankings were always meant to be who's the best right now (right now being maybe a year or 2).

But Golovkin has never faced anything other than no hopers. 3-4 years ago. This year. 10 years ago.

So how do we know he's P4P level?

I'm not trying to argue GGG's P4P level here. I'm saying if you are disqualifying GGG, you can't give Ward a pass for essentially the same reason.

Since people seem to have forgotten the TS' original question, and the poll, GGG has faced the softest competition overall. I feel like the TS made this thread just to see Ward haters pick him and not GGG lol

Even if you're a GGG or Kovalev fan, you have to be embarrassed on the inside that you picked Ward.

Sure but he proved himself 4 years ago. He hasn't proven himself now.

It's the same reason if neither of them has proven themselves now. And if you don't think GGG has proven himself for a P4P ranking now, there's no way you can argue one for Ward.

So you base Ward's entire career of his last two fights? Is it that hard to be an objective boxing fan these days?

The answer is GGG..... but it's not entirely his fault since no one his size wants to fight him.
