Which was more dissapointing? Floyds 389k ppv buys or GGG's 97k buys.

Since it seems that many of the GGG critics wants to all of a sudden take Rick Glaser's word as gospel on the PPV buy count, I'll use him as a reference.

According to Rick Glaser, Floyd/Berto did 389k buys and GGG/Lemeiux did 97k buys.

So was Floyd's farewell bout ppv buys more disapointing or was GGG's first ppv fight more disappointing.

Floyd's numbers for the Berto fight are impressive, not disappointing. 389K for a complete mismatch with next to nothing promotion wise? That's incredible.

Honestly that's a huge testament to Mayweather's popularity (or infamy).

At what point did Deevel become a numbers guy lol, but anyway. It's obviously GGG. Golden Boy and K2 honestly ran an excellent promotional campaign for this bout, but they simply overestimated Gennady's drawing power to the general public. The public has no idea who this guy is. He has no notable wins, just KO victories over everybody you didn't know was a proffesional fighter. He's like that boxer Mike Jones who was in damn near every Subway commercial during daytime television hours. But he was an FNF fighter and to this day no one has a clue who he is. Floyd, Gatti, Canelo, Manny, Oscar etc. debuts were all a success, not GGG. He doesn't possess the star quality that the aformentioned fighters do, but he's a damn good fighter. Unfortunately that's not enough to garner attention. Keep him away from Ward and you can milk em for the little bit of money he can produce. Put em in there with Ward, you'll get a much better return than with Lemuix. But the downside is he'll have an L that could potentially hault the GGG train.

Probably. How much was Chavez Jr's first PPV? No one knows because it was bad but then again I doubt they expected big numbers in the first place.

The overall numbers only matter based on how much money they paid for the event. For example if Mayweathers purse was $30 million, plus all the promotion and rest of the card, I'm sure his numbers were bad and they took a loss, but then again they didn't care since they got a gazillion dollars from the Pacquiao fight so it's all relative.

Everyone expected the Mayweather/Berto numbers to be low (by Mayweathers standards) not many expected the Little G PPV to flop so badly.
