  • Comments Thread For: WBA Claims Jones-Maccarinelli Title Status 'False Rumor'

From inception to present day, Roy Jones' December 12 headliner in Russia has gone from a major title fight to be aired in several countries - including the U.S. - to a fight to be shown on BoxNation.

The former four-division champ is confirmed for a showdown with former cruiserweight titlist Enzo Maccarinelli on that date, only its title status is up in the air. Event handlers have claimed that the WBA 'Super' Cruiserweight title will be at stake, while the sanctioning body has dismissed any talk of its involvement. [Click Here To Read More]

Lets hope no title is at stake then

It wouldn't even make sense for the 'regular' title to be at stake (upgrading Lebedev to Super) as neither Jones or Enzo are ranked anywhere near the top of the WBA rankings at cruiserweight

A lot of articles are saying the WBA Super is at stake though, where did they get that from? Didn't Jones say his next fight would be for a world title? Ahh.. Event handlers... lets see how far the Russian money goes

    Lets hope..

This makes absolutely no sense which means that it is right up the WBA's alley. I hope whoever wins this fight is their recognized Super Dooper Cruiserweight Champion. There is no reason for them not to be according to the WBA's tendencies.

Nothing would surprise me with the WBA...they even have a interim interim champion
