Brook won easily. He landed the cleaner punches frequently that caught attention fans and judges, and he smothered Porter. It really is no debate.

I thought it was close when I first watched it....I was drunk.

Sober, I scored it 9-3 Brook. Porter is just a terrible boxer and got completely outboxed.
I guess i got their scorecards mixed up

Porter has shown some improvements as of lates, i really wouldnt mind seeing a rematch in the UK. He's still one of the top guys and it was a close fight...

        It makes sense though.

I personally thought Brook won but i was very surprised he got the decision.

Lets not forget also that Porter was extremely hyped before that fight. Go back through this forum if you have forgotten. There was pages and pages of threads about him, how Floyd would never fight him etc.. etc..

I just felt that the way the fight panned out, there's no way Brook could be taking that belt off him because of the location, Porter's hype and everything else. So this does add up to why Brook got the nod. At first i thought it was just good judging but we all know it doesn't work like that.

I think he has a point, even though i disagree about Porter winning.

While I do think it is a lot of Politics and BS in boxing, I can't take anything away from Brook, he came here and he beat Porter at his own game which was taking the fight to him on the inside. NOBODY expected that not even Porter. I thought based on the 1st Carson Jones fight that inside fighting was Brook weakness but to his credit he added a inside game and to me that makes him a very difficult match up going into that next generation of Welterweights for Thurman, Khan and whoever else

On the inside? he was simply clinching, there was no inside fighting LOL

Brook has no inside game, neither do Thurman or Khan....Brook likes to headhunt, he rarely works the body...once you get on the inside he clinches you

Why have you suddenly turned so drastically on Brook, Frankie?

You used to have his picture in your avatar a few months ago.

I know what you're going to reply with - I turned on Khan. Yes I did but I had legitimate reasons. He ducked a huge fight with Brook which everyone wanted to see and would have earned him a lot of money. He has turned into a complete puussy over the past couple of years.

What is your reasoning for turning on Brook? So much so that you now accuse him of being gay, on steroids, losing to Porter etc etc. Even I haven't taken my criticism of Khan as far as to blindly accuse him of being on roids. What's with that?

You have a history of this. You used to hate James DeGale too then you suddenly act as if you're his biggest fan recently. You also used to be a big Froch supporter now you call him a ducker?

Are you genuinely bi-polar or schizophrenic because you know I've always had my su****ions?

It however was a close fight, one could argue Brook didnt do enough to take the title..

Ryan Rhodes i.e Brooks mentor and childhood friend, gave Porter the fight by 1 round...Khan had it a draw...and the commentators felt Brook didnt do enough

Tyson Fury knows his boxing, he felt Porter won, and he isnt the only one

Porter had managerial issues with GBP and so they took his title away, he paid the price

I would like to see a rematch
The ref allowed Brook to clinch too much...
I didn't know about Porter's issues with GBP.
