People are overreacting, they probably just realized it was dumb to go against that big UFC card and are simply changing the date.

Youre absolutely right. Boxinng is in trouble and is on the decline at the moment. It reflects in the ratings from fight to fight with a spike here and there bcuz the powers that be get it right and make the right fight at the right time. What i mean by "right fight righ time" is that 2 fighters had a great showing/form and peaked some interest/momentum before clashing with each other...thats the model thats gonna resurrect interest. What kills interest/momentum is putn a fighter in with somebody nobody cares abouy immediately after he has great showing...and then doing it again and again until the fans just dont care to tune in...whats the point? Valid question. It just takes the lustre of the fight epecially when their level of opposition is questioned.Boxing is in serious trouble at the moment. There's growing disinterest from older fans, they're struggling badly to pick up new fans...it's going to be even worse in two or three years time.
This 'sport' was damaged long before Mayweather-Pacquiao, but that fight seems to have been the nail in the coffin.
Generally speaking.
Good post Anita Gofradum and i agree, boxing was ruined long before MayPac, MayPac was just strung along by the structure/model that existed before they came about...think TysonHolyfield.Comment

I love when people continue to say "boxing is dead...boxing is in trouble". Give me a break. Boxing has the highest grossing PPV's, has tons and tons of upcoming stars, is on HBO, SHO, ESPN, Spike, CBS...even BET lol. Boxing has been around for over 2000 years and is not going anywhere. Most who say that are closeted MMA/UFC clowns anyways. That is the sport its fans need to be worried about. It is basically like pro wrestling at this point and has already peaked after only being around for like ~21 years. The only reason MMA is even alive is because of the NFL/WWE/NASCAR type fans who watch it (which unfort is a large portion of America). We always equate what's popular here in America with what is popular in the world. America is not the world ok? Soccer (football) is the #1 most popular sport in the world, hands down...nothing is even close. And barely anyone in America watches it. So obviously it doesn't necessarily matter what we egotistical Americans view as popular ok? Boxing is alive and well and not going anywhere so give it a rest.Comment

yea i agree, i hate when people say boxing is dead, its just not as big as it once was. but new stars will emerge as time goes on. it will take time for the next superfight just like may/pac took so damn long to build up and thats AFTER they both established theyre names to the point where the fight was in demandI love when people continue to say "boxing is dead...boxing is in trouble".
