Rumor is he wanted 10mil paydays. Its a shame because he had lots of momentum going prior to falling into a rift with his promoter. Had he not shelved himself he would have probably been making really good money right now.

I kinda know about this situation and I'll speak on it a lil.

Garcia was upset with Top Rank lying to him about purses/money for the Gamboa fight, and that where the problem stemmed from and grew from. Fast forward a bit and Garcia decided he wanted out of his contract and Top Rank/Arum was putting Garcia on ice for a bit to teach him a lesson and during this time Garcia and his lawyers have sent several official offers to Top Rank which they declined. Fast forward some more and now Top Rank wants to resolve this cause it date in court is coming up and it will get resolved that way so Top Rank basically sent Garcia the same offer he sent them to settle this a year ago, so Garcia said why bother he already gone this long might as well see it all the way to the end. So thats where its all now, this issue will not get settled out of court, Mikey Garcia is going to see it to the end.

He wants to to pay him for the missed time. Think it went like this lately.

-he offered a few times to buy out his contract
-they kept declining
-finally they agreed to buy out but so much time has passed that he wants money for all the time they wasted.
Something like that so he'll probably be on pbc in 2016. No way another year goes by
