Comments Thread For: Garcia: Having Atlas Won't Benefit or Change Bradley

On November 7th, former lightweight champion Brandon Rios (33-2-1, 24KOs) will face WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (32-1-1, 12KOs) at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bradley took significant punishment against Ruslan Provodnikov, Manny Pacquiao in their rematch, and Diego Chaves. In his most recent fight he was cruising towards to an unanimous decision victory over Jessie Vargas until getting caught at the end of the 12th round. The fight was stopped 7 seconds prematurely and Bradley was able to hold on for the victory.

If Bradley follows game plan he will win. He can't get caught up in a war. Just watch abril fight manny and Rios loss from trilogy. As long as you turn him jab him angles movement he needs to be set with you right in front of him slow feet .

The hell it wont. If you have a respect for Teddy like Bradley does Atlas can help you. Bradley is a smart fighter who listens to his coach. That alone will help better Bradley. Bradley is already a real good fighter. Atlas can help him get better.

In my humble opinion Atlas is a complete fraud of a trainer - made Povetkin look worse than ever, Moorer lost in 1st defense to 44yr old, destroyed Michael Grant and Kick Johnson mentally. I expect Bradley to make a quantum leap backwards. Just terrible trainer - In my opinion, all his fame came from being around Cus and Tyson for a short period of time. People on boxing know he's a total joke that stepped in *****.

You're right that he hasn't had a lot of great fighters but to call him a fraud of a coach is wrong. Plenty of professional coaches get credit for being good because they have an amazing fighter while I know a fantastic amateur coach who has never had anybody of of note. Teddy was right to keep Povetkin from Vladimir, look what happened. Everyone knows Michael Moorer was kind of a ***** that didn't train and let's be honest George lost 98% of that fight. If he had spent the amount of time training that he did broadcasting he's had several more champions. Teddy's problem is that he runs his camps like army training and that doesn't fit a lot of guys. It's perfect for bradley. Diaz seemed to only get Bradley fired up which was his downfall in the Pacquao rematch and almost his downfall in the Provodnikov fight.

Rios is not trash. He may get dominated in much of the fight, but he will get some shots in. If Bradley tries to play macho and get into exchanges he will get hit. Rios is a very good body puncher too. Remember Pac was stinging him, but Pac hits harder than Bradley and i think he has quicker feet than Bradley. Bradley is not the slickster alot of you all think he is. He can box but he is getting too muscle bound the older he gets. Bradley is not a true 147 pounder he lifted weights to get up there. He was at his best at 140. Going to get interesting. I think Rios wins. The last time we saw Bradley he got hurt badly by feather fisted Vargas too. Remember Vargas was at 140 at one time too. Plus the Atlas Curse. ?

Teddy Atlas if coaching Bradley vs Provodnikov

Atlas: Ok Tim, I know Provodnikov just tried to knock your block off but go back in there and give me another round exactly like that. I want you to put your chin out there a little more and show this SOB he's not beating Teddy baby...you put that chin out there like the warrior you are and we can go and celebrate at Denny's afterwards like the champion I...you are. The judges love that sort of thing and you send the crowd into a frenzy. Don't you see look at him he's tired from hitting you with all those shots, let him hit you some more. They may say i'm no longer lucid but i've been on ESPN when it was just SPN before they bought the E."
