Ward is a LHW who just got shut down trying to fight a young, inexperienced 168lber at 175. It's been 2 years since Ward has even made 168, and longer than that since he's had any significant wins at that or any weight, why are we putting him so heavily in the conversation with a career MW?

Shrug I mean I'll be the first to admit that Team GGG's statements have been a mess but that doesn't mean that the GGG-Ward fight makes sense right now. I felt differently when it appeared that the Smith fight was a step on the way back to 168 but in reality Ward is transitioning into LHW.

So any perceived threats to lil g should be dismissed because "He would get decapitated" C'mon bro. As a fan you should want to see that fight to see how lil g would do against Lara. "He's boring doe, he ran from canelo doe"

It is more so about the opportunity to fight Cotto which is a huge fight that fans want to see, it is a big fight without the Belt, it is a Bigger Fight than any Belt!

Cotto should have dropped the Belt after beating Martinez and Making History if he never had any desire to be a True Middleweight

I will suggest AGAIN, Drop that Middleweight Belt, both still have time to get down to 154 and fight for that Vacant 154 WBC Strap! Then you won't have to hear about fighting GGG Next if neither are "True Middleweights"

Basically Canelo is saying if he wins, he vacates the title to beat up on smaller guys at 154 until GGG retires. I will never forget the 30 day weigh in, Canelo at 168 in top shape. We now know he boils himself down to make 154. As long as the king GGG gets the WBC belt I don't care. Next!

So, Canelo just confirmed the position they took earlier.

They have no interest whatsoever in 160.

Exactly. And to be real, the GGG nation should have no beef with this. They have all claimed that thw belt is what's most important. So now, GGG can have the belt, and then move on and fight the Lee-Saunders winner to unify. The Cotto-Canelo winner is gonna fight whomever he wants. Ward has moved on and is building towards a showdown with Kovalev. And GGG can take all his belts and make the necessary mandatories top keep them. Everyone should be happy.
