Comments Thread For: Sanchez on Crawford Facing Pacquiao, Others at 147

Trainer Abel Sanchez, who trains middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin among several other talents, believes WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford (27-0, 19 KOs) is not ready for the welterweight ranks just yet - but he is ready for a fight with Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs), who is probably the smallest of the elite boxers in that division.

It's official, Sanchez is the new Freddie Roach. He's the go to guy for the media because they know he won't shut up.

The guy has one fighter in GGG who basically trains himself and now he thinks he is the second coming of Eddie Futch. I use to hate when Roach does this but this guy seems to take the cake. Let me see you make a champion out of another fighter, then we can taking you a little more seriously Abel. No matter the circumstance, Crawford can never or will never have an easier time with Manny even if he ends up beating Manny.

Sanchez seems really out of touch. He's talking about Manny not being a very physical, then says the guys at 147 are all seasoned (when a bunch of guys just moved up to147 and the old guard are retiring).

Actually he has a few very good up and coming Eastern Euro fighters, Sullivan Barrera, that welterweight who beat Zewski, Joel Diaz Jr. I think?
