Fun FaŠts: Robin Deakin (2-51-0) Won 2006 Pro Debut * Lost 51 Times * Won Last Fight!

    A little light-hearted relief:

A boxer named Robin Deakin {boxrec} with an outstanding record of 2 wins, 51 losses and 0 draws won his second fight this year after 51 failed attempts.

Curiously, the only other fight he won was back in 2006, in his professional debut, his very first pro bout. Since then he fought 52 times and lost every single time apart from his last fight! For Deakin, it turned out to be 52nd time lucky with the vast majority of his fights being 4 rounders.

Now 29 years old, Deakin is reported to have said some years ago that as soon as he'd win his second fight, he would immediately retire from the sport putting a poetic twist on his record having only ever won on his professional debut and his retirement fight, across 53 fights and over a highly active 9 year span.

After 53 fights, with only his second victory in the bag, should Deakin hang them up or should he keep fighting?

Prince Patel has an amusing dig at Deakin here :

You would think they would take his fighter's license away. He must love to fight to keep on fighting after losing 51 times.

Thank's for that. That's funny. I have seen other boxrec records almost that bad. That's what I like about boxrec. They rank everybody no matter how bad they are. I have needed their help to research some of Wilder's early opponents.

This Prince Patel is an idiot. But he's not the kind of idiot where you think: "he's good, but he's an idiot" like the real Prince.

He's the kind of idiot that's not entertaining inside or outside the ring. He's the kind of guy you think: "please don't let me watch another interview of his ever again". He's so damn cringey. The way he's saying he's a prime specimen of a man. I mean

He's 173cm and 50kgs. He has greasy hair and a bad attitude. and the worst part, he can't even fight. He's talking about Charlie Edwards. Man, as bad as he is, he will Uzzy this kid big time, just like he did over and over again in the amateurs.
