Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: Golovkin-Eubank? Call Child Protection!

So Chris Eubank snr has no doubt that his pugilistic progeny Chris jnr would wallop Gennady Golovkin. Right now.

“Christopher possesses all the attributes needed to beat Golovkin,” opines the born-again Johnny English. “It’s a tough fight but Junior beats him in my view.” And naturally, Chris-the-lad concurs.

”Golovkin has got weaknesses that I feel I can exploit… I think he’s easy to hit and I don’t think he’s fought anyone who’s really been there to try and win,” he says.
Really? Well, David Lemieux certainly wasn’t there as a dance partner and look what happened to him!

I don't have an issue throwing out some accolades for GGG. He's certainly been in the midst of a solid streak in recent years. What I have issue with are those who can't seem to wait to jump all over him as the greatest. Yes, he's approaching that status, but he certainly isn't there yet IMO. Let the guy keep fighting, but not with such a big head. And UnAbel is really getting to be a royal pain. Geez, we just FINALLY got done with probably the most swollen ego ever in boxing with precious ducker Floydie. Do we really need to jump right back on that scene... AGAIN? Joe Louis was great, but he was one better than that... he was humble. Don't fuel fire to an already nearly outta control situation. I'm thankful we'll either have Cotto or Canelo fighting GGG next year. I think if it happens, the boost to boxing will be great. The sport can always use a shot in the arm like that. Just don't put a freaking robe, crown, throne, throne room, gold plated castle up yet for the guy. I mean, what's the rush anyway?

I don't think anybody is taking that seriously -
One its Abel Sanchez who is bigging him up and confident about him
Two GGG is pretty chilled he doesn't talk bad **** so why take it out on him
Three his fans might go over the top but once again its been so long since we've had a genuine guy who can deploy entertainment with sheer dominance the past P4P 1 surely wasn't capable of that.

I think it just comes down to some wanting to come across as elitist, they can't appreciate a good fight not even If it came up and slapped them on the face.

If Eubank wasn't soundly outboxed by Saunders in spells I'd believe you, I think Eubank Jr has a great chin and conditioning though so it could be entertaining on that.
Eubank to me is maybe a level down from the like of Munroe Jr.

Me being English it's common knowledge that everybody detests frank warren....he knows the promoting side of it....but when it comes to talking about actually boxing forget it....golovkn is a fantastic fighter for sure and he will rank very highly in 2 or 3 years no doubt but to class him as a Robinson, hagler or monson is insane considering he is still to face the best in that division....he will dominate them all I am convinced of it but he hasn't yet so you can't rank him that high......as for Oscar trying to save canelo from golovkin.....u watch warren will try exactly the tactic if billy Joe Saunders wins it from Andy Lee .....watch this space

Unless Jr has a death wish,he shouldn't go anywhere near Golovkin..... for a few years.
