Comments Thread For: Kiko Martinez Bounces Back With a Knockout Win

Spain’s Kiko Martínez (33-6, 25 KOs) bounced back from his disappointing loss to Scott Quigg with a first round knockout over Herald Molina, the Nicaraguan who was also stopped last year by Britain’s Kal Yafai. The bout was scheduled for eight rounds and took place in Valladolid.

According to his promoter, Maravilla Box, Kiko is scheduled to fight again in three weeks time, again in Spain, in the Canary Islands, with a view to another run at a world title for 2016.

What i recall was Martinez got caught with a big punch and then got overwhelmed as he has a terrible back foot game . He won the first round and got caught by a uppercut which allowed Quigg to press him back and stop the fight with the combinations . Look at the 2 Frampton fights Martinez can be timed coming in and was dropped in a similar style.

yeah but he looked flat during the fight and before it, he didnt look fresh. And he took much harder punches than that before. He must be shot? I dont mind quigg winning fair play to him. But joe gallagher running around like a lunatic? gallagher will be exposed, his prized asset callum smith is going to get stopped inside 6 rounds.

He was pretty lively against Quigg until Quigg landed that big shot
