Comments Thread For: McGuigan on Frampton-Quigg Deal - We're Nearly There

According to Cyclone Promotions CEO Barry McGuigan, who promotes IBF super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton, says an agreement is nearly complete for a showdown with WBA 'regular' champion Scott Quigg for the early part of 2016.

McGuigan's comments mirror the recent statements that were made by Quigg's promoter, Eddie Hearn.
“The venues are being talked about - Manchester towards the end of February, so the dates are being set. We’re nearly there.”

LOL Quigg and his fake belt..... Was impressed in his last fight and not so with Frampton.
I have always favoured Frampton but don't know now.
    Hope it is made.

Looks like we're good to go. Always had faith that this fight would get made unlike other all British affairs.

      Frampton takes him out.

Chuffed this fight is finally getting made. Hopefully after this, with the big payday out of the way, the winner can face Rigo.

Neither of them will fight rigo, by the time this fight is on, rigo would've been stripped of his title for inactivity and none of these two will have a reason to fight him, better yet they'll have a credible excuse not to do it.

Rigondeuax needs to get his **** together and sign with a decent promoter.

This is the biggest fight in the division and that's a sad reflection on Rigondeaux's commercial status even though he's clearly the best at the weight.

Santa Cruz waiting in the wings for the winner, unless of course Haymon has another plan.

2016 is shaping up to be a good year in the division.

Santa Cruz is staying at featherweight permanently now. I'd rather Frampton try to unify at Super Bantam than move up yet.

ok, that's cool. I just hope 2016 Haymon pulls the trigger and make the best fights in the 2 divisions. Just so much talent from all over the globe that could really make for great fights.
