Great find brother.

There are plenty of factors in this PPV's extremely subpar numbers, no American or Latino involved, it was in between two other PPV fights involving bigger names in a 10 wk window, it being both fighters PPV debut & it not being perceived as a competitive fight.

Its a ****ty result, but I think they will see much better results next time around (kinda have to be better with numbers this low lol) just due to a couple of the above mentioned factors not being involved with the likely next PPV fight.

Oh great a Ward fanboy? Thats like being the biggest fan of ******ed kid on a special olympics baseball team to the point of quoting his stats. Don't get me wrong I dig Ward, he's probably one of the big talents in the game right now & I think he'll beat GGG if they fight (sounds like HBO just wants to throw him at Kovalev is the thing so I think its unlikely to happen), but its REALLY hard to be excited about anything Ward related these days.

The fight was no question a flop. GGG is still a boxing commodity doe.

As for the details I didn't learn about the American/Latino PPV lean til after the fact. I obviously knew about the Latino lean, but never really thought about the American angle in there also.

Also really didn't think too much about the 10wk PPV marathon we got going on so that was a shortcoming in my estimation out of the gate. I'm not even sure the Canelo vs Cotto fight was a definite thing at the point of my estimate. Or I just didn't think the numbers in play for this fight would be THAT impactful on this fights overall results. Thats still debatable. The closer Canelo vs Cotto get to a million buys the more cannibalizing of competing PPV's is relevant, the closer it is to 500k the less its relevant.

The fight should be made immediately, it blows my mind when fans want great fights to be put off so they can build the hype. All this build the fight **** is why these fights usually end up not happening. When the fights hot, make it.

What do the PPV numbers have to do with Cotto or Canelo feeling like they shouldn't face him now anyway? Its the fight to be made at middleweight and its been ordered by the WBC so the winner will either face GGG or be stripped. If the winner refuses to fight him and gets stripped for it they will be just like Bowe throwing his belt in the trash rather than fighting Lennox Lewis, that's a terrible look for a boxer, basically saying " I cant beat you so just take my belt".

I actually like Cotto and Canelo so id hate to see the winner pull that **** after their fight.

I get what you're saying and I would like to see that fight immediately but we know Canelo and Cotto don't need the WBC belt. If the negotiations dont meet their desire then they won't mind skipping over GGG, lets be real. What I said earlier about facing a few other people to build the fight will eventually force Cotto/Canelo to face GGG. Not only public pressure will be on them, since GGG would be known to casuals, the financial incentive would be there also. Since those two things are missing from a potential GGG vs Canelo/Cotto fight as of now, the chances of that happening so soon are slim.
